  • M.A./M.Sc./MCA or Equivalent: Candidates should hold a Master’s degree in any branch of Science/Statistics/Mathematics/Computer Applications or equivalent. Final year students are eligible.

  • Integrated M.E./M.Tech or Dual Degree (after Diploma or 10+2): Integrated Master’s degree courses or Dual Degree programs in Engineering/Technology (5-year course) are eligible. Candidates in the 4th/5th year or those who have completed the program can apply.

  • Integrated M.E./M.Tech (Post B.Sc.): Completion of Post-B.Sc. Integrated Master’s degree course in Engineering/Technology (4-year course) makes candidates eligible.

  • Integrated M.Sc./Integrated B.S.-M.S.: Candidates holding an integrated M.Sc. degree or 5-year integrated B.S.-M.S. program are eligible, including those in the final year.

  • Professional Society Examinations: Equivalent to B.E./B.Tech/B.Arch, recognized by UPSC/MHRD/AICTE, with Section A or equivalent completed by May 31, 2013.

2. Age Limit

There is no age restriction for candidates applying for GATE 2025. Applicants must, however, meet the educational qualifications specified for their chosen paper.

3. Nationality

Candidates of Indian nationality, as well as international candidates from specified countries (Bangladesh, Nepal, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia, and United Arab Emirates), are eligible to apply.

4. Number of Attempts

There is no restriction on the number of attempts for the GATE exam. Candidates can attempt the exam multiple times, with the validity of GATE scores extending for three years from the year of examination.
